On the 20th of April 2018, Pink Oak Cancer trust officially launched it’s #DonateToBeatCancer Fundraising campaign at 805 Restaurant Amino Kanu Wuse 2 Abuja. The purpose of this event was to publicize and broadcast the goals of the campaign which is to raise N200million for treatment of 50 cancer patients, to the general public. Speaking at the event the Executive Director Dr. Laz Ude Eze said the target of the campaign is to generate N200 million to treat at least 50 cancer patients in 2018.
Gloria Orji whom is the current president of the Abuja Breast Cancer Support Group and also a cancer survivor at the event narrated her own personal experience during treatment. She said it took the grace of God for her to be alive considering what she went through during her treatment.
Representatives from other stakeholders like Project Pink Blue, Medicaid and ROCHE were also present at the event as well as some family and friends of the Executive Director Dr. Laz Ude Eze, as the event coincided with his 36th birthday.
